Only For You (Unforgettable You, Book 1)

When in Paris... (Language of Love) - Beverley Kendall 2 stars

I must say, this book isn’t for me.

I wasn’t really enthusiastic when I started with this book, I encountered with first-person female point-of-view — the heroine, Olivia. I’ve never had best moments with first-person POV before. In fact, I tried my best to avoid books with first-person POV because they made me crazy. However, my interest hyped up when I learnt the book is actually alternating point-of-view. At least, reading from male point-of-view — the hero, Zach — could keep me sane.

As I went further, I got bored. There was no actual plot. Besides, I didn’t feel connected with hero and heroine. Yes, they liked (but acted that they didn’t) each other since high school. They liked (still acted like one) each other even after high school but I felt nothing of that sort. Hence, the romance, it was only tiny little bit. Even though with said overwhelming sexual tension, I felt nothing too.

The book has some teen angst too. On this part, I truly felt bad for Zach.

To be frank, I liked Rebecca and Scott a lot because they’re more New Adult to me.

I have a confession. I told myself I had to take a break from this book because of the teen angst part. It got me depressed. On second thought, if I did so, I would never pick it up again and that would leave this book in Did-Not-Finish shelf. I, for one, truly hate to put a book in said shelf and to avoid that, what I did was I skimmed and only stopped at at certain paragraphs or sentences.

Anyway, I liked the cover. I do. I liked the alternating POVs too. The title was definitely intriguing but do not let it fool you because it fooled me.

I maybe read Rebecca and Scott’s book but I pass on April and Troy.

Read on your own peril.
