Desire Unchained (Demonica Series #2)

Desire Unchained (Demonica, #2) - Larissa Ione 5 stars

Well, I am glad I've decided to get back to Demonica series after I wasn't impressed with previous book. However, this one - wham! - I fell hard, fast.

Shade was introduced in the first book and lets just say that he wasn't exactly my favourite person until I got into him again, here, in his very own story. After I learned everything about him, I finally understood why he was such a cold-hearted in previous book and read about it had been a heart-wrenching one especially when he finally met his other half, Runa.

Thanks to his brother Roag gone bold, he bonded with Runa - permanently. She convinced herself to hate him for everything that ruined her life but then, she just couldn't. She loved him then and she even love him still. The best part was Shade would do anything to make up to Runa regardless of possible things that would happen to him and he loved her.

Besides the romance, Roag the bad guy was actually an interesting character to read although he is an antagonist in this book. However, I felt sad for him because well, he made destruction onto himself until he found his mate but he continued so being bad for his own selfish purposes. Still, he was one tortured soul guy, just like the rest of his Sem brothers. I hated him, yes but when I read his love for Sheryn, oh dear, it was heart wrenching.

Side stories were cool too especially about Kynan and Gem. Tension was there and I was ended up frustrated, since things didn't work out between them. So much for wishing the two would finally have their own happy endings just like Eidolon and Tayla, and Shade and Runa.

Overall, the story was amazing and I am looking forward reading Wraith.

Recommended.
