To Sir Phillip, With Love (Bridgerton Series, Book 5)

To Sir Phillip, With Love - Julia Quinn I read previous four books last year and I've missed the Bridgertons. Hence, I picked this. It's Eloise Bridgerton's book. Before I read it, I was just curious as Anthony to whom she'd been writing to. The cliffhanger was left with Eloise wrote letters to someone. In this book, I finally found who this someone is.

Well, I enjoyed the premise very much. The romance was mild, only started to bloom later in the story, which I found a bit disappointing but still, I liked it. I enjoyed the characters too especially Phillip and Eloise. They were great, of course.

Eloise is a woman who isn't afraid to voice out her thoughts. She does talk a lot and she would just say or ask whatever it is to her heart's content. She's so lively, friendly, and she's a happy person. Phillip's children, Oliver and Amanda, who at first disliked her, eventually came to like her and now, they love her immensely. I liked Eloise's effort to want to get to know Phillip. When she finally saw the true reason in Phillip's fury and guilt, she began to love him.

Phillip, who is a tortured soul man -- being lived for eight miserable years with a wife, Marina, who was a very sad person. After his wife deceased, he felt guilty. He blamed himself for everything. A failure, he thought. But when Eloise came into his life, everything changed. He found happiness and joy. He sees light. For him, she's a perfect, precious gift ever. The thought of losing her, frightened him. There, how wonderful that is.

I liked this book and if you haven't started with this series, I think you should. I guarantee you would like it, perhaps love it even. Now, I can't wait to read the next book -- it's Francesca's story.
