How to Ruin a Summer Vacation

How to Ruin a Summer Vacation - Simone Elkeles This is the first book I read written by Simone Elkeles and it didn’t reach my expectation. The story is good and it was quick, nice reading. The romance was good too. I liked the passion between Amy and Avi. They just got that thing between them. I didn’t read the book’s summary in firsthand and I was shocked I read something Israel related. Don’t get me wrong but this is the very first time I get the vision of Israel (the not war zone part) from author’s view. As the author implemented in the book that many people, people like me (just like Amy herself), think Israel is a war zone. I’m glad I was wrong.

Despite Amy’s annoying characters (well, typical for 16 years old) I liked the humour in this book. They were funny and I couldn’t myself from laughing. I liked it when Amy’s got upset. I don’t know why but seeing (or reading in this case) Amy got upset when things annoyed her only just making me amused. And Avi, well I liked him because he’s one tortured-soul kinda guy. I liked the way he felt insecure and so he could be a jerk to defend himself from getting hurt. Anyway, he’s nice.

I liked the book, yes. However I’m contemplating AGAIN whether to continue this series because I’ve just read the next sequel’s book summary and some reviews, I found that I maybe not going to like it.
