the little bookish

I quite liked this book. This time it's Amun's "downfall". The very "downfall" I'm talking about is Haidee. I liked their romance. It was so romantic. Very heartwarming, indeed. I liked their passion too because things didn't kind of rush. Took things slowly. It was mild.

So, the focus in this book is merely on how to release the "uninvited" demons inside Amun. If you read previous book, Amun with two other friends, William and Aeron, went to hell to save Legion and on the quest, he accidentally absorbed most of the demons when he was learning their secrets. Hence, Amun went to hell - again - to release those demons back only this time, him companion was Haidee. On the journey, they had to pass several realms and it was very challenging. It was thrilled especially the fights, the gory, horror, and scary details, and the Horsemen.

Those we read LOTU series, I'm sure we all know that Amun, Demon of Secrets, he can talk but he won't. Something bad will happen if he utters single word. At first, I was so curious on how would he talk to Haidee. My first guess was perhaps the lady might know how to sign, so there, done. My other guess was that perhaps Secrets might fear Haidee so much he wouldn't do anything and so Amun got no problem at all with talking. Who knows, WHO KNOWS that it'll involve with mind reading. Goodness, that very thought hadn't even crossed my mind. That was brilliant. Definitely brilliant Ms. Showalter. Besides, something about Haidee that's very intriguing. She's not normal demon assassin as we thought. She's something else. So powerful.

I kind of bit sad because before reading this book, I thought that Haidee is a lady for Strider. I was kind of hope too because previous book and another previous book, I felt their chemistry. It was there and I found that I liked it. Very much. Well, anyway Haidee and Amun, they're not that bad. Looking good together. Besides, Strider had once seeing on Kaia so, I can't wait to read about this two which will be in the next sequel.
