The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld, Book 1)
Very interesting. Very fascinating, indeed. Hot and sexy too. The story is so predictable. The moment one of the lords notices somebody, female, lurking around their perimeter - tadaa, it's Ashlyn! Maddox's love of life.Ashlyn has telepathy (modern term). She can hear voices and those voices make her crazy. Only Maddox can tune out those voices and ever since, she doesn't want to stay away from him. Finally, she found peace. Who can resist a beautiful woman like Ashlyn? Maddox has feelings for her. He cares about her. Even Violence, the demon inside Maddox, wants to protect her. Despite at the beginning, Violence urged Maddox to kill Ashlyn.
Other lords make appearances too - Aeron the keeper of Wrath, Torin the keeper of Disease, Lucien the keeper of Death, Reyes the keeper of Pain and Paris the keeper of Promiscuity. The mention names are participated most in the book. They are other lords mentioned too but I'm lazy to mention here. I believe theirs will be more in the next couple of books. There is one character I truly, really liked - it's Anya! She's witty, crazy and funny. If it weren't for Anya, the lovebirds (Ashlyn and Maddox) would suffer without each other.
The Greek mythology is just great. I really liked reading about them. Now both Hunters, demon assassins and the lords are now have one objective: to find the Pandora box. The story is actually just begun and I wonder what will happen next. That means I must grab the next sequel!
