This book is awesome and worth to read! It's about grief and about choices, too. A notebook was given to Amy when she was in rehab and being asked to make it as a diary but instead, she made it into letters to Julia. A best friend of her who died in a very tragic accident and Amy felt that's her fault.

Amy wrote to her about how much she missed her. She wrote that she tried a lot of times to reach her mother, Julia's mother, to tell her that she's sorry but didn't manage to. She hated every session she had with her counselor. She hated her parents that sudden took notice on her after the incident. She hated to have a special connection with others because she wanted to be alone so much and she thought she deserves it. Then, letter after letter, she started to realize she hated herself and eventually, she hated Julia for leaving her and dying.

In the end, she chose to be happy and she does. She's having a friend too and she chose to say goodbye. A real goodbye to Julia.
